Where did this come from?
Computer dust is a topic that isn't mentioned much at all. It's a side issue that is forgotten most of the time.
But, if you hear the words, "My computer stopped working," or "My computer crashed", those words get your attention.
That is what can happen if you don't clean your machine from time to time. The picture above illustrates how dust accumulates over time inside your computer.
There isn't a process that automatically cleans your computer. It would be great if there was a fan built-in to your computer that did this, but there isn't.
If you have pets, little kids or live in a dusty environment, you will have a problem with this kind of buildup. It will be just a matter of time before you begin experiencing some problems.
At first, there may be just little annoyances like a computer that stops working for a short time.
It may take longer to do tasks that could normally be accomplished in a short time frame.
If these problems persist, you might begin to hear funny noises coming from your computer.
Another sign of the buildup is overheating. If the air is hot coming out from your computer, that is a good indication that your machine is working too hard.
The result will be a computer that stops operating altogether!
